On July 3rd, the newly formed ACG (Les Amis du Circuit de Gueux) held their first official event honoring the memory and history of the exciting races held at Reims-Gueux from 1925 to 1970. The intended mission of the ACG, headed by enthusiast Alain Paqueraud, is to preserve and maintain both the surviving race facilities—such as the track’s classic pit structure—as well as the memory of this historic road circuit.
This first Reims “Revival” event featured a broad collection of sports cars forming a display in front of the old pits, as well as a collection of vendors selling all manner of automobilia. Celebrities in attendance included Jean Pierre Beltoise who was there to celebrate the 40th anniversary of his Formula 3 victory at Reims, behind the wheel of a Matra.
