In January 1933, Pierce-Arrow revealed a new design at the New York Auto Auto Show.
The official announcement, of January 6, 1933, stated, “In addition to introducing a complete line of Twelves and Eights at the National Auto Show in New York this week, Pierce-Arrow surprised the industry by exhibiting a new and revolutionary car called the Silver Arrow. True stream lines, developed as a result of endless wind-tunnel experiments, give the car a maximum speed of 115 miles per hour, while at cruising speeds of from 60 to 80 miles per hour, it slips silently and easily through the air. Only five cars are being built and they are priced a $10,000.”
