The Albi Grand Prix; Albi, France, July 16, 1939
Arthur Dobson in the very fast E.R.A. E-type which set pole position time in practice. His race was not so fortunate, for although he set the fastest lap during the first heat—an improvement of 5 seconds under his practice time—his engine caused problems which resulted in a crash on the ninth lap, fortunately without injury.
