The world’s largest gathering of antique cars and enthusiasts will once again invade Hershey, Pennsylvania for the AACA’s annual Hershey Nationals on October 8–13th.
Highlights of this year’s massive event will include:
6th Annual AACA Library Yard Sale (October 8, 4-7 p.m., AACA Headquarters, 501 W. Governor Rd., Hershey)
This sale provides a great opportunity for automotive literature collectors to hunt down their favorite pieces of sales literature, books, owner’s manuals, etc. Last year’s event pulled in more than $10,000 in three hours. All items for sale were donated to the library and are duplicate items. All money raised benefits the AACA Library – America’s Automotive Library.
13th Annual RM Sotheby’s Collector Car Auction (October 10-11, Hershey Lodge, 325 University Dr, Hershey)
Known for its emphasis on significant Veteran, Brass and Classic Era American cars with fascinating histories, as well as its presentation of important private collections, bidders can expect another handpicked roster of more than 150 historic automobiles and a selection of collectible memorabilia to go under the hammer at this year’s Hershey event. Vintage Race Car Conditioning Run & High-Wheeler Event (October 11, 10:30 a.m., Hershey Stadium, 100 West Hersheypark Drive, Hershey)
The event is part of the ritual that is the Hershey Show. This year, there are 18 race cars registered for this unique event including oval track, sports cars, Indy cars and motorcycles. There is a 75-year history of race cars driving around the Hershey Stadium, starting with the midget car races during the depression. Today, Hershey is one of the only places where spectators still get to see these cars in action!
22nd Annual Juniors at Hershey (October 12, 12-2 p.m., in front of the Giant Center, 550 Hersheypark Dr, Hershey)
This year, Juniors at Hershey celebrates “100+ years of automobiles.” There will be a display showing how automobiles have advanced over 100+ years. Participants will also learn about the 1914 Ford T known as the “Hershey Region Chuck Wagon.” Students from Penn College of Technology will have hands-on activities for all age groups.
