On June 12, the Motorsports Hall of Fame in Novi, Michigan, will induct racer and high performance driving school founder Bob Bondurant.
Bondurant started his racing career driving a Morgan in 1957 and soon graduated to racing a Corvette, which he drove to a West Coast championship. Bondurant’s winning ways in the Corvette caught the eye of Carroll Shelby who hired him to join his assault on Ferrari and the FIA Championship. Bondurant went on to race in Formula One and Can-Am, but a serious accident in a USRRC race at Watkins Glen in 1967 prematurely ended his talented driving career.
