American racing fans will soon be able to enjoy a rare piece of ’70s Formula One history now that the original Tyrrell team transporter has been reunited with the Formula One cars that it once carried. The transporter was recently acquired by California enthusiast John Delane, who owns the ex-François Cevert USGP-winning Tyrrell, #002. Delane and friend John Dimmer, who owns sister car #004, plan to create as historically accurate a team re-creation as possible. This includes the period-correct cars, transporter, team apparel and drivers’ helmets (could mutton-chop sideburns be far behind?). Look for their rolling ’70s time warp at several Historic Grand Prix race venues in 2003.
