Isothermos was a manufacture of refrigeration units before WWII. The company was founded in Genoa, in 1939, but was moved in 1942 to Bresso by Renzo Rivolta, an heir to industrialists and an engineer in his own right.
The company was reestablished as Iso Autoveicoli S.p.A., in 1953, to reflect its growing production of motorized transportation. The company started with scooters, motorcycles, and 3-wheeled motocarries, and then moved on to the Isetta bubble car, later licensed to BMW.
