The Antique Automobile Club of America’s (AACA) Annual Grand Nationals Car Show begins this week in New Ulm, Minnesota.
Only the best-of-the-best can compete in this show, where every car on display has been shown at multiple AACA National events and won multiple awards including the club’s Senior Award. What will you see on the show field? More than 100 of the finest antique cars from a 1903 Holley Roadster to a 1989 Buick LeSabre Coupe, and everything in between! This year’s entries will include a 1917 Locomobile 48 Custom Dual Cowl, a 1928 Gardner 85 Roadster, a 1929 REO Flying Cloud Phaeton and a 1939 Lincoln Zephyr Convertible. Also on display will be a 1941 DeSoto Custom Club Coupe, a 1954 Kaiser-Darrin 161 Roadster, a 1964 Amphicar 770 Convertible and a 1969 Mercury Cyclone Coupe.
Of particular interest will be 18 special hand-picked cars that are vying for the coveted Zenith Award for restoration of the year! Judges for this year’s competition include Angelo Van Bogart (editor of Old Cars), Stephen Murphy (curator for the Driehaus Collection), Richard Lentinello (publisher of Crankshaft) and Graham Kozak of RM Sotheby’s.
