2010 Wheels of Wellness Charity Event

Ferrari 250 GTO at 2009 Wheels of Wellness The 2010 Arizona Auction Week kicks-off on Sunday, January 17th in Phoenix with the prestigious Wheels of Wellness fundraising event, the brainchild of a small group of local vintage car collectors whose lives have been touched by cancer.

Last year’s event showcased an $80 million collection of vintage racecars, including two Ferrari 250 GTOs and a Gulf-Wyer Ford GT40 that won at Monza in 1968. In attendance were such motorsports greats as drivers Vic Elford, Bob Bondurant and Lyn St. James, and Gulf-Wyer team manager John Horsman.

The 3rd annual Wheels of Wellness promises to be equally spectacular with a showcase of historic race cars in attendance, as well as 2009 IndyCar Champion Dario Franchitti, dubbed the “Comeback Kid” after winning his second IndyCar Series title on October 11th.

The Wheels of Wellness fundraiser benefits The Wellness Community, a national organization that provides more than 100 free programs monthly to cancer survivors and their families. Wheels of Wellness will be held on the exquisitely manicured grounds of The Wellness Community’s restored 1908 home and one-acre campus in downtown Phoenix. Epicurean food and imported wine and beer will be served.

The 2010 Wheels of Wellness charity event will be held Sunday, January 17th from 11:00am – 3:00pm at The Wellness Community, 360 East Palm Lane in downtown Phoenix, Arizona. Showcase entry tickets are $75, with $50 of this amount tax-deductible. To purchase tickets, please contact Tina Bronson at 602-712-1006 or tbronson@twccaz.org.
