The third annual Arizona Concours d’Elegance, scheduled for January 23-24, 2016, will open America’s ongoing celebration of the forthcoming 100th running of the Indianapolis 500 with a showing of significant Indy racecars from the past, a display of historic artifacts and a very special public event, all of which preview the centennial running of what the late Sid Collins always called “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing.”
The Arizona Concours, which takes place at the Arizona Biltmore Resort in Phoenix on Sunday, January 24, the kickoff of Arizona Classic Car Week, will feature a number of historic racecars from the Hall of Fame Museum at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, as well as the actual Borg-Warner Trophy with relief portraits of all the Indy 500 winners sculpted on its surface.
Two of those winning drivers, Arie Luyendyk (1990, 1997) and Tom Sneva (1983), will participate in a panel discussion the day before, from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Arizona Biltmore. Moderating the discussion will be seven-time Indy starter and 1992 Rookie of the Year Lyn St. James, and attendees will have the opportunity to meet the drivers at an autograph session scheduled for after the seminar.
