Event organizers can confirm that the legendary pre-war “Silver Arrows” will appear in the UK at the 2012 Goodwood Revival, September 14–16, to stage one of the most spectacular historic vehicle demonstration runs ever. The Silver Arrows were the factory Mercedes-Benz and Auto Union Grand Prix cars that will now be driven in anger on a British circuit for the first time in 75 years.
With the full support of Mercedes-Benz and Audi, the 2012 Goodwood Revival will recreate the spirit of the momentous day in 1937 when the 600-hp beasts raced in the UK for the first time. With the iconic Mercedes-Benz W25, W125, W154 and W165 models as well as examples of the Auto Union Type C and Type D in action at racing speeds with well-known top-level racing drivers at their wheels, the event could be a high point of historic motor sport for decades.
