The 21st annual Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance was held March 13 on the 10th and 18th fairways of The Golf Club of Amelia Island at The Ritz-Carlton, and marked the 100th anniversary of BMW while celebrating 50 years of the Lamborghini Miura and featuring the Porsche 356, Bizzarrini Spiders, Pegaso, Cord and Concepts Beyond Detroit. The event’s guest of honor was second-generation German racer Hans-Joachim Stuck, whose stellar career was recognized with an array of the “Cars of Hans Stuck” that included five Porsche 962s, three of both Formula One machines and BMW CSLs, and his Trans-Am Audi 200 quattro.
On the concours lawn, Best of Show honors were shared by a 1952 Pegaso Z-102 BS 2.5 Cupola Coupe (left, above) from the Louwman Museum in The Netherlands, which won Concours de Sport, and a Brewster-bodied 1930 Rolls-Royce Phantom II Sedanca de Ville (right, above) from California’s Nethercutt Collection in the Concours d’Elegance.
