As it returns for its 11th year, Salon Privé has firmly established itself as the UK’s most prestigious Luxury Supercar Show & Concours d’Élégance, and the 2016 edition will take place from September 1-3 on the grounds of Blenheim Palace. The three-day event incorporates the Chubb Insurance Concours d’Élégance, Boodles Ladies’ Day and The Salon Privé Supercar Show, while also showcasing Pirelli’s Prestige & Performance Competition, the EFG Art and Memorabilia Fair and The Salon Privé Sale.
Topping the attractions is “50 Years of The Lamborghini Miura,” as Salon Privé dedicates an entire class to celebrating the golden anniversary of the iconic prototype supercar. The first entry is confirmed as a late-production P400S model with only 14,000 verified miles that is just one of 24 right-hand-drive cars produced.
Among the other classes will be: European Grand Tourers; Gone with the Wind; Racing Improves the Breed; Porsche Racing Pedigree; Pre-War Coachwork; The Great V12 Ferraris; and ’80s Dream Machines, and highlighting the entry list is a unique ex-works 1969 Porsche 911 that competed in the 1970 Tour de France.
The event’s panel of world-renowned judges will be led by chief judge and five-time Le Mans winner Derek Bell MBE, who will be joined by the President of Historica Selecta, Adolfo Orsi, former World Champion Motocross Racer Jeff Smith MBE and Rolls-Royce Design Director Giles Taylor.
