This original water color painting by Uli Ehret shows the IMSA GTX class Porsche 911 RSR driven by Larry Perkins, Gordon Spice and John Rulon-Miller, braking into Mulsanne Corner during the 1978 24 Hours of Le Mans. The Charles Ivey Engineering team Porsche finished 14th overall and 2nd in class. Following them is the Ferrari 365 GT4/BB of Francois Migault and Lucien Guiteny that came 3rd in the GTX class and 16th overall.
The Porsche is a lovely example of the reliability and speed of the 911s in this turbo-ruled period. The original painting, which measures 50 x 65 cm unframed, is signed by John Rulon-Miller and Gordon Spice, and is priced at £1890. A limited edition series of 24 reproductions, the same size as the original, is also available. The price for these prints is £179 each, plus packing and postage.
