Headlining Barrett-Jackson’s 9th Annual Las Vegas Auction set for October 13-15 at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino will be some 80 cars from the Tammy Allen Collection that will be sold with no reserve. Six of those cars were on display at Barrett-Jackson’s recent Northeast Auction, including a 1962 Jaguar XKE 3.8 Roadster (above, Tim Heit photo courtesy of Barrett-Jackson) that is an early flat-floor car with welded hood louvers and the aluminum dash and console. Comprehensively restored with excellent attention to detail, its Heritage Certificate confirms its completion to correct specification.
“Barrett-Jackson has become the premier auction house for collectors who want to find the best new home for their collection,” said Steve Davis, president of Barrett-Jackson. “Prolific collectors like Tammy Allen understand that Barrett-Jackson casts a wide net to a global audience of enthusiasts who will love and appreciate her vehicles as much as she does.”
Other notable cars from the Allen Collection are: a 1950 Mercury Coupe that was originally customized by “Sultan of Chop” Dick Dean; a 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible; a 1937 Cord 812 Phaeton; a 1947 Studebaker Starlight Coupe Champion Custom nicknamed “Black Bart” and a 1999 Shelby Series 1 Convertible.
