The Lonville Classic rally will be staged 9-11 September 2011 on the south side of the Alps around the lakes of Como, Lugano and Maggiore in Italy and Switzerland. The 3rd Lonville Classic will once again bring old and new friends together for a weekend of shared passions for classic cars on the shores of some of Europe’s most beautiful lakes.
The Lonville Classic is a regularity event, all stages use public roads. Entrants are guided by a roadbook and various road-side instructions from the support team. With 20-25 cars the event aims to retain the intimacy and informal style of previous years while adding some of their latest favourite places and those impossible to find glorious lake-side roads.
Participants of the 2011 Lonvile Classic will travel through old villages, along winding lake-side roads and across breathtaking mountain tracks. Timed road stages and tests are interrupted for good food in glorious locations. On the last day participants have the opportunity to ‘dress to match your car’ – all part of the fun and competition.
Although the Lonville Classic is about fantastic driving, the event is also about enjoying cars with good company. Each of the navigated stages will feature some (mild) competitive elements to both amuse and confuse participants and onlookers. To reward the hard work behind the wheel, and in true Italian style, the event makes time for important things: espresso, long lunches, good dinners, fine wine and chefs that make a difference.
The Lonville Classic 2011 is open vintage/classic car enthusiasts and cars older than 20 years are welcome. For more information, visit www.lonville.com.
