Some 150 vehicles from the world-class Charlie Thomas Collection will be auctioned at No Reserve during two upcoming Barrett-Jackson sales. The first six offerings will cross the block at Barrett-Jackson’s 9th annual Las Vegas auction, set for October 13-15 at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, while the remainder will be sold at the firm’s flagship Scottsdale sale next January.
“As evident from his very special collection in Texas, Charlie Thomas is a real car guy with an eye for the finest this hobby has to offer,” said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. “We’re honored he has chosen Barrett-Jackson to help find new homes for 150 of his vehicles as he looks to make room for new additions to his collection.”
Heading the quality consignments available in Vegas is a Royal Maroon 1946 Chrysler Town & Country Convertible (above, photo courtesy of Barrett-Jackson) that has had a professional frame-off restoration and is powered by a 323 cubic-inch Straight 8-cylinder engine driving through a Fluid Drive transmission.
Another example is a black 1940 Cadillac Series 62 with red interior and a large 346 cubic-inch V8 teamed with a standard transmission. A third American luxury offering will be a Presidential Black 1958 Lincoln Continental Mark III Convertible powered by a 375 horsepower, 430 cubic-inch V8 with four-barrel carburetor, with an interior boasting leather seats and “power everything.”
