The third annual Weekend of Automobile Excellence was held September 26-27, 2009 at the historic Reims-Gueux Circuit in France. A record number of visitors attended the two-day event, a worthy tribute to the prestigious past of the Champagne racing circuit.
Nearly 250 participants took turns on the Reims-Gueux Circuit to put on a show demonstrating their machines brought out especially for the occasion. The racing cars were impressive in their performance on the track, from the 1920’s and 1930’s models such as the Amilcars, Léon Bollées and other Bugattis through to the more recent Alfa Romeos, Matras and Jaguars. The Jaguars present included those which had triumphed at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Mille Miglia.
Spectators were also honored with the presence of the unforgettable Italian MV Augusta motorcycles with their inimitable sound ridden by motorsport’s greats such as Giacomo Agostini and Phil Read, who delighted the spectators.
In addition, the French Air Force display teams put on an incredible aerobatic show, resulting in a well-deserved standing ovation from the crowd.

Great photos on a classic circuit. Although not a car, I really like photo 26 of the blue aircraft head on – excellent.
Photo shop the Silk Cut Jag out of the corner of pic #22 and it could be a period piece. Outstanding.
