Mecum Auctions will hold its newly expanded, six-day Kissimmee Auction on January 24-29, 2012 at Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee, Florida. More than 2,000 collector cars will cross the auction block, in addition to 1,500+ pieces of automotive memorabilia.
“Since the final gavel fell at last year’s event, enthusiasts and collectors have been anxiously awaiting our larger-than-life Kissimmee Auction, which we have expanded once again to encompass six full days,” said President Dana Mecum. “Collectors flock to Florida for Mecum’s fast-paced, customer-centered auctions, and as last year proved and this year promises, Kissimmee will again be the must-attend collector car event in January.”
At an auction that features an untold number of important Corvettes, the headline consignment at the 2012 Mecum Kissimmee Auction is undoubtedly the 1961 Chevrolet Corvette Gulf Oil Race Car, a SCCA B-Production National Championship winner driven by Dr. Dick Thompson. Other notable entries include the 1969 Chevrolet Corvette L88 Convertible, 1957 Chevrolet Corvette Big Brake Fuelie, Miller-powered Miss America VIII boat, 1968 Shelby GT500 Fastback, 1963 Shelby Cobra DragonSnake, among others. These vehicles join a list of an astounding 2,000+ consignments that will be offered at Kissimmee, which has expanded to six days and become the largest classic car auction held in January.
The 2012 Mecum Mecum Kissimmee Auction will take place on January 24-29 at Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee, Florida with tickets available in advance or at the door for $15. The auction will broadcast with four days of live national TV coverage on Discovery’s Velocity network during the “Mecum Auto Auctions: Muscle Cars & More” show.
