During a recent conversation with SVRA chief, Tony Parella, we learned that he is dedicated to hosting fun and exciting events in 2013. With two Sebring events already in the logbooks, the SVRA is pulling out all the stops for their third date with a new venue: Rockingham Speedway in North Carolina, scheduled for April 18-21.
“The Rock”, as it is affectionately known, is a 1.6 mile infield road course with a layout similar to the Daytona circuit. Long a staple of the NASCAR Cup series, the track offers a great chance to stretch your race car’s legs. With 16 races across two days, the schedule is packed with competition including two enduro races.
Perhaps the best part of competing at “The Rock” is the extravagant party being thrown on Saturday night, April 20th. Entrants and crew members will be treated to an authentic North Carolina pig roast with sponsor Chicago Soft Ltd. picking up the tab. Further festivities include live country/bluegrass music and even a Moonshine Taste Testing Challenge. The party should help weave Rockingham into the fabric of vintage racing.
If you get the sense that SVRA is committed to attracting racers and delivering a fulfilling club experience, then load up the race car and point the truck and trailer towards Rockingham, NC.
