Maserati will be the featured marque at this Sunday’s 26th Palm Beach Cavallino Classic Sports Sunday at Mar-a-Lago in Florida.
The firm, established in 1914 by the Maserati brothers in Bologna, hit its stride in the 1920s when their cars began winning important races, and their fame grew into the 1930s. Following the enforced break for World War II, Maserati enjoyed its heyday of racing in the 1950s and 1960s, with gorgeous examples of both GT and Formula cars (above, Chuck Andersen photo). Additionally, Maserati produced some excellent GT cars for the street, machines famous for their Italian flair and restrained style.
