On the weekend of February 17-18, Mecum Auctions will join the long and historic list of car-related events to be held at Los Angeles County’s Fairplex in Pomona, with an estimated 600 American muscle cars, classics, Corvettes, Hot Rods, Resto Mods and more set to cross the auction block.
The selection of consignments for Mecum Los Angeles 2017 represents a broad array of vehicles from entry-level to museum-grade, with sale prices of cars expected to range from just a few thousand dollars to several hundred thousand.
Among the more interesting consignments are a pair of 1968 Dodge Hemi Dart LO23 Super Stock racers, one known as the Mickey Weise LO23 Hemi Dart that was sold new to Harry Holton Racing and originally campaigned by Holton and Weise on the West Coast in the SS/AA racing class. The second, known as The Demented Dart, was raced across Canada and the United States.
Other consignments include a 1968 Chevrolet Corvette L88 convertible (above, David Newhardt photo courtesy of Mecum Auctions) with a 427cid/430-hp V8 engine and four-speed transmission, a 2013 Ferrari 458 Italia with only 1,321 miles, and a 1962 Chevrolet Bel Air Bubble Top that features a 409cid/409-hp V8 engine and a one-year restoration that was completed in 2015.
Doors at the Fairplex will open each day at 8 a.m. with the vehicle auction beginning at 10 a.m., after the Road Art® sale opens the day at 9:30 a.m. For further information please visit www.mecum.com
