My love for racecars led me at retirement to produce a range of collector’s cards (6 inches x 6 inches) and prints (A2) from my drawings. No background, with the engine as the central element in the illustration. Although photos are taken, for me it is paramount to sit and draw; in the process of drawing one looks very intently at the subject to analyze the relationship of components. This leaves an impression in the mind, useful when doing the final drawing. For me, the little Alfa T33 was a “must have” after seeing Bobby Bell’s car at the Festival of Speed; Bobby of Bell & Colvill generously made the car available for me to draw.
