April 2017
• The Sportscar Vintage Racing Association has announced that it will offer season-long National Championships for both the short sprint races and longer endurance contests on its 2017 schedule of events. Previously, SVRA’s season-long points championships were centered in the eastern USA. Points awarded for finishing positions will be the same for both sprint and endurance contests, ranging from 16 for winning to one point for 10th place, with 13 sprint races and 10 endurance contests included in the National Championship program. Eligibility for these season championships is open only to SVRA members who contest at least three of the designated races, with points awarded for both Saturday and Sunday feature races with the exception of the Sunday races at Circuit of the Americas as the champions will be crowned at that event’s Saturday evening banquet.
