The Bonhams Boca Raton auction will be held Saturday, February 23rd on the grounds of the Boca Raton Resort and Club in Florida. Held in conjunction with the 2013 Boca Raton Concours d’Elegance, the inaugural Bonhams automobile auction staged in Florida will see a strong selection of European and American cars cross the auction block.

A notable British offering is the versatile 1965 Aston Martin DB6 Vantage Shooting Brake, one of just six ever built. Originally conceived by Aston Martin’s director, David Brown, to carry his guns and dogs, the Radford coachbuilt conversions were a no-expense-spared exercise in the ultimate sportsman’s sports car. Moreover, this particular example has the desirable left-hand drive and options such as air conditioning, and benefits from the powerful and superior Vantage specifications.
The 1967 Porsche 911 Targa Soft Window Coupe is also newsworthy. With low production numbers, strong performance and proven, timeless design, this particular matching-numbers, open-top sports car from single family ownership has also benefitted from a complete and documented restoration performed by marque specialists Amalfi Racing.
Another performance car is the 1971 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Spider Conversion, finished in Giallo Fly yellow. This open-top conversion, made on a Plexiglas-nosed Daytona, was originally supplied in Italy where it was made into a convertible.
Strictly utilitarian – and quite innovative at that – is the 1965 Citroen Sahara 4×4. Fitted with two complete and separate engines, one for each drive train, the durable and reliable little convertible was conceived and used as a real work horse, particularly in the Alps and Pyrenees by local police and rescue forces. With less than 700 made and fewer survivors, this model has become a highly sought after by collectors in recent years.
On the more luxurious side is the 1938 Rolls-Royce Wraith 7-Passenger Limousine given as a gift by Prince Artchil Gourielli-Tchkonia to his wife, the cosmetics magnate, Helena Rubenstein. Enormous, lavish and gorgeous, this British titan boasts a pedigree of refinement and distinction.
