Among the cars that Russo and Steele will offer at its 5th annual auction in Newport Beach, California, on the weekend of June 2-4, will be examples from three different collections, those of Richard Smith and Ronald Scanlon, as well as a Private “No Reserve” Collection.
Following his 2008 retirement from a lifetime of military duties and a career in funeral direction, Richard Smith redirected his energies toward his passion for collectible automobiles. His collection is highlighted by, but not limited to, Corvettes, and its diversity is evident in its inclusion of various Fords, Chevrolets, Cadillacs and more.
Like Smith, Ronald Scanlon is driven by passion for all things automotive, from toys to gas pumps to exceptional collector cars. That passion extends to his professional life as owner of one of Southern California’s premier body shops, where the walls feature collectable memorabilia. Scanlon is a connoisseur of powerful American automobiles, but his collection also includes examples of exotics, luxury cars and Hot Rods.
Featuring offerings from virtually every segment of the hobby and spanning nearly three decades, the Private “All No Reserve” Collection means that every vehicle must be sold. This extensive collection includes European sports cars, American muscle cars, competition cars (like the Corvette shown above), Hot Rods and Pre-war.
