The 46th birthday of Formula Vee will be celebrated at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca this April 4–5, in a vintage event organized by the San Francisco Region of the SCCA. The event is being presented as a West Coast opportunity to celebrate the popular Volkswagen-powered class in the wake of a similar affair held on the 45th anniversary, last April, at Roebling Road near Savannah, Georgia.
Preliminary plans call for a 25-minute practice and qualifying session on Saturday morning with a similar-length sprint race that afternoon to determine grid spots for Sunday afternoon’s feature event. Another 25-minute practice will go Sunday morning. Some thought is also being given to having a “Vee Concours.”
The race meeting is being organized by the San Francisco Region, meaning the entry process will be handled through their Web site. So, be sure to check http://sfrscca.com for the entry process and more information.
