Actor and Racer Paul Newman is said to have gotten the racing bug during the filming of the 1969 Universal motion picture Winning. This painting portrays Newman as the fictional character Frank Capua, who in the movie wins the Indianapolis 500. Also depicted in the painting is the 1979 Le Mans 2nd overall and IMSA category-winning Porsche 935 co-driven by Newman, Barbour and Stommelen. As we all know, Paul Newman became one of the great ambassadors of motor racing.
