• Hardy Allen, a longtime Indycar crewman with teams such as Dan Gurney’s All American Racers and A.J. Foyt Enterprises, has passed away after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. He was one of Gurney’s first employees at AAR, serving at various times as parts man, fueler and mechanic. To all his many friends in and out of the sport, Vintage Racecar extends its deepest condolences because Hardy will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
• The man known as the Godfather of Karting, Frank “Duffy” Livingstone, has passed away at the age of 92. Livingstone’s legacy is the International Kart Federation, which he organized because he understood that to grow properly, the sport of Karting needed solid rules and intelligent guidance in order to be taken seriously.
