Goodwood has announced the creation of the Ronnie Hoare Trophy, honoring the legendary Maranello Concessionaires squad leader, Colonel Ronnie Hoare, as the prize for winning the opening race of the 76th Members’ Meeting for road-going sports and GT cars of the type that raced internationally between 1963 and 1966. The 2018 Members’ Meeting will take place March 17-18.
It would be impossible for Members’ Meeting to hold a race in the Colonel’s name without a Ferrari on the entry list, and you can expect to see Ferrari 275 GTB/Cs taking their rightful places on the grid, complemented by a handful of other beauties from Italy, including Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ1s and an Abarth-Simca 2000 GT. Also expected from Porsche are 911s and 904 Carrera GTSs.
Following the Hoare Trophy race on the Saturday, will be Part 1 of the Gerry Marshall Trophy contest, with the second part set for the Sunday, when the majority of the racing will be taking place. For complete information about Goodwood’s 76th Members’ Meeting, please visit www.goodwood.com
