This month’s featured site is the official Web site of Dan Gurney and his All American Racers (AAR). Formed by Dan Gurney and Carroll Shelby in 1965, after their victorious year at Le Mans, AAR went on to produce 157 racecars from 1965 to 2000. During its nearly 40-year-long history as a racecar manufacturer, AAR won in Formula One (see this month’s Eagle profile), the Indy 500, IMSA, Trans-Am, and racked up a total of 78 victories, 83 pole positions and 8 championships.
Some of the features that can be found on the AAR site include a full biography and table of career statistics for Dan Gurney as a driver; a brief history of the AAR story, with team statistics; specific histories on the Eagle F1 program and the origin of spraying champagne at Le Mans; a gallery of the 66 AAR team drivers; an assortment of magazine articles and features written on AAR and its racecars; Dan Gurney’s Alligator motorcycle project; a photo gallery of fan-sourced photography; and a section for officially licensed merchandise.
