• The 24th Annual Mecum MidAmerica Las Vegas Motorcycle Auction, held January 8-10, produced an 83 percent sell-through rate, with 590 motorcycles sold for $7,277,820 in total sales. British motorcycles were once again sought-after collectibles with BSA, Triumph, Matchless and Vincent models bringing $25,000 to $135,000. Top sales honors were claimed by a 1952 Vincent C Rapide hammering for an impressive $132,500. Achieving a high bid of $87,500, a meticulously restored original 1918 Henderson four-cylinder came in as the second-highest sale of the three-day auction followed by a 1927 BMW R47 Racer and a 1933 Matchless Silverhawk that each gaveled at an even $80,000.
