A widespread series of infrastructure improvements at Connecticut’s Lime Rock Park have begun according to the track’s management team. Some of these improvements include: paving of all of the area inside the loop road in Paddock A; creation of significant runoff area at the uphill; upgrading of the trackside safety barriers to 3-rail Armco; as well as the addition of a significant amount of new catch fencing.
Other improvements will include the replacement of all of the old chicane curbing, with new more “car-friendly” curbing that will open up the chicane, make it quicker and reduce the exit angle towards the tire barriers at the outside of the chicane.
Additionally, the track’s pit lane is being permanently reconfigured into the “long format” which will relocate the false grid along the earth berm adjacent to the front straight.
Lime Rock’s management believes that these changes, along with improved heavy truck/transporter access roads, will not only make the track safer but more enjoyable for competitors as well. For the latest updates on the improvement project visit www.limerockpark.com
