After leaving Ferrari in 1961, Giotto Bizzarrini joined Iso Rivolta’s company and began laying down the design for a GT car that would meld American muscle (Chevrolet V8) with Italian styling. Penned by Giorgetto Giugiaro, while at Bertone, the Iso Grifo A3/L prototype debuted at the 1963 Turin Auto Show, with the GL production model going on sale in 1965.
