The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix Association and the Vintage Racer Group have announced that the Ford Mustang will be the featured marque at the July 9–10, 2005 Historic Races at BeaveRun. The Ford Mustang was introduced in 1964 as a 1965 model, making this the 40th anniversary of Ford’s “Pony” car. Racing Mustangs built up through 1972, including Shelby GT-350’s, Boss 302’s, Trans-Am and A/Sedan Mustangs are invited to enter the Historic Races at BeaveRun. With significant entries expected, a separate all-Mustang race will take place on Saturday. There will also be VRG classes for all sports cars, sports-racers and Formula cars through 1972.
This two-day event kicks off the PVGP “Speed Week” that runs from July 9–17, culminating in the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix at Schenley Park. If your car is not eligible for Schenley Park, the organizers welcome you to enter BeaveRun and become part of the PVGP experience. Cars eligible for Schenley will also be welcome at BeaveRun.
