The countdown for Abarth Day 2019 has begun. The biggest ever European meeting of the Scorpion brand will take place over two days, October 5–6, in Milan and will offer adrenaline-fueled experiences in the usual Abarth style.
Hosted this year in the futuristic Milano Innovation District (MIND). Participants are invited to drive on track in their own Abarth cars, along with the opportunity to experience the 124 rally at full speed. There will be a display of current and classic cars that made the rich history of the brand, an acrobatic area, stunt show and gaming areas for adults and children. There will also be a big surprise in store for all fans.
A major part of this Abarth Day will be the three-kilometer-long track, with its exciting sequence of straights, curves and hairpin bends, to test the trademark handling and performance of all Abarth models. It will be an unmissable opportunity for fans who choose to take part, whether in their own Abarth or trying out one of the new models in the Abarth “70th Anniversary” range.
Visitors can also act as a co-driver for the Abarth 124 rally on a specially created track built to demonstrate the performance of the 124 rally that recently won the FIA R-GT CUP for the second year in a row. Abarth pro-drivers will also be on hand to teach participants how to handle specially equipped skid cars.
In the entertainment area, visitors can try driving simulators, race Abarth remote control cars and enjoy the acrobatic Bike Trial, BMX Flatland, and Parkour sessions. There will also be music, street food and the opportunity to purchase official merchandise and a selection of “Abarth Authentic Accessories powered by Mopar”.
Today there are 74 official clubs, an increase of 80 percent from 2016, and all attending Abarth Clubs will have a designated meeting place for their members. A passion for Abarth is what brings together the “The Scorpionship” community that has gained over 111,000 members in just three years.
The legend of the brand started 70 years ago, on 31 March 1949, when Carlo Abarth (1908-1979) founded Abarth & C. with driver Guido Scagliarini. To mark the anniversary, the 595 range adds a dedicated badge to the exterior, distinguishing them in this significant year.
