At the Alfa Revival Cup Classica held April 2-3 on the Circuit Enzo and Dino Ferrari in Imola, Italy, fastest qualifier Roberto Arnaldi took victory in the one-hour feature contest, leading all the way with his Group 5 Alfa Romeo GTAm. He was chased hard by eventual runners up Francesco Pantaleo and Giovanni Serio (Group 4 Giulia Sprint GTA 1600), with 3rd place finally going to the Alfetta GT6 driven by Bruno Mazzuoli and Amerigo Bigliazzi after a race-long duel with Consuelo Walter Luccioni (GTAm) that ended in last-lap contact between the two cars that left Luccioni only 7th at the flag. Fourth overall, winner of the F-T1600 class, was Jürgen Ludwig of Team Formula GT in a GTA 1600, while 5th overall was GTAm class winner Mathias Körber. The Giulia GTV Class was won by Giovanni Verga in 9th overall.
The overall ranking for the Alfa Revival Cup, however, considers the technical characteristics of the car as well as its result in the race, meaning that first place was awarded to Germany’s Jürgen Ludwig, winner of the F-T1600 class, with 16.5 points, followed by Giulia GTV Class winner Giovanni Verga with 15 and Franco Mischis and Marco Guerra sharing 3rd place with 14.5 points.
The next round of the series will take place at the Misano World Circuit on May 7-8, the entries are open for all Alfa Romeos built from 1947 to 1981. For complete information, please visit www.alfarevivalccup.it
