Alan Stammers grew up with the sight and sound of motor racing, the family farm bordering the Snetterton circuit in Norfolk. His emerging talent as an artist was to be greatly influenced by his love of motorsport. With no artistic training, Alan has worked as a full time artist since the late ’80s, a natural progression from his long-time hobby. Although covering many different subjects as the years passed, his major interest has remained motorsport. His work, exclusively in pencil, has been marketed by BMS Marketing at Snetterton, Peter Ratcliffe Legends in Time, Antiquity Art and British Airways, and has been endorsed by many of the world’s finest drivers. Since 2010 he has worked where he is happiest, at his studio in East Harling, Norfolk, on a commission basis for clients far and wide. A range of signed and numbered prints have also been produced, which can be viewed at www.alanstammers.co.uk
Jim Clark has remained his idol since those early days and a number of images have been produced over the years, but this drawing is his personal tribute. Titled ANNIVERSARY 1968-2018, it depicts Jim at Monaco in 1967 driving the Lotus 33, and commemorates 50 years since the great man’s untimely passing. Measuring 16 x 11.5 inches and strictly limited to 250 prints, each print is individually signed and numbered by the artist.
