Following two years of planning and assistance from the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, The Bahamas Speed Week Revival will take place from November 30 to December 4. Event organizers have already received more than 40 firm entries for the week-long Festival.
Opening ceremonies will be on Wednesday, November 30, at the specially created street circuit alongside the Caribbean at Arawak Cay. Event Patron Sir Stirling Moss will lead the cars away following a celebratory Le Mans start. Five-time Le Mans winner and Porsche works driver Derek Bell is also scheduled to be in attendance.
Thursday will feature the 007 Island Tour as a police escort guides the cars around some of the locations used in the latest James Bond film, Casino Royale. Other events include a lunch and Concours d’Elegance at the ultra exclusive Lyford Cay Club, home of Sir Sean Connery, plus an evening at the amazing Graycliff restaurant.
Saturday features an exciting Hillclimb venue at Fort Charlotte, a tight climb up to the fort overlooking the harbor, while Saturday evening brings an elegant Charity Gala Ball at host hotel Atlantis Resort. Sunday’s activities return to Arawak Cay, where cars will take part in sprints with single-lap runs against the clock.
A special deal with the Celebration Roll On Roll Off Ferry has been arranged to leave West Palm Beach on Monday, November 28 and return the following Monday. The party starts on board.
Another special deal has been arranged for those who contact the organizers and mention Vintage Racecar. Visit their website at www.bahamasspeedweekrevival.com and contact david@forcegrandprix.co.uk
