Two new events have been added to Beaulieu’s successful Simply range with Simply British Classics on September 20th and Simply BMW on July 19th joining the packed 2020 line-up.
Bringing even more motoring excitement to the grounds of the National Motor Museum, the petrol-powered pair will expand the Simply range to a total of 13 rallies. The announcement follows the recent addition of the first Simply Electric on May 24th, which joins last year’s record-breaking Simply Audi, Simply Aston Martin, Simply Jaguar and Simply Land Rover, as well as popular Simply Ford, Simply Japanese and Simply Porsche.
Britain’s best-loved classics will be the motoring stars of Simply British Classics, which will be open to all pre-1980 classic cars built in Britain or by a British manufacturer. From Sunbeam, Austin, Riley and Triumph, to Alvis, Lagonda, Humber and more, all marques from the British motor industry’s bittersweet past are welcome.
Event-goers can expect to see popular family saloons and sleek sports cars in the diverse line-up, while owners of luxury limousines, rugged commercial vehicles and economical runabouts are all invited to park up, compare cars and chat with like-minded enthusiasts.
If their Vauxhall was built in Germany, Austin assembled in Australia or Mini Cooper constructed in Italy, it doesn’t matter – all British marques will be welcome. They may own a Ford built at Dagenham or Halewood, or even a pre-1966 Citroen built in Slough – if it has a strong British connection, they are welcome to join the display.
Every BMW from the German manufacturer’s distinguished past is invited to Simply BMW, as the event gathers all ages and models of the highly-prized motors. All are welcome, from the latest executive saloons and glamorous sports cars, going back through the genre-defining 3 and 5 Series and high-performance M models to the earlier trend-setting Neue Klasse range of the 1960s and Isetta bubble car.
At both rallies, event-goers can vote for their favourite car of the show in the People’s Choice Award, with the winner receiving a Beaulieu trophy.
For those driving British classic cars into Beaulieu to take part in Simply British Classics, participant tickets are £10.50 an adult and £5.25 a child (aged 5-16) if bought in advance online before 5pm on September 17th, or £12.50 an adult and £6 a child if bought later or on arrival.
