To celebrate 60 years of collaboration between Shell and Ferrari, the marketing geniuses at Shell decided to pay homage to Ferrari F1 cars by creating a commercial that has to be the best car-guy commercial of all time.
The sights and sounds will blow you away as Ferrari F1 cars from past to present blast through the streets of London, Rome, Rio de Janeiro, Tokyo, New York, and Sydney. Ferrari F1 test drivers did the driving except in Sydney, where a Ferrari customer reportedly did the honors. Shell reports that the commercial is the most expensive advertisement ever made – worth it.
Crank up the volume and enjoy.
Shell Ferrari F1 Commercial
Shell Ferrari F1 Commercial – Alternate Version This version reportedly didn’t make the cut, but it’s impressive nonetheless.
wonderful
I don’t mean to dampen your enthusiasm about Shell’s ‘Circuit’ advertisement, but the location list is incorrect and incomplete.
It would have been spectacular, but no principal photography was shot in Tokyo.
In order of their appearance, the cities included in this commercial are:
Entering Rome flying past the Colosseum, Rome Italy;
5th Ave, down Broadway to Time Square, Manhattan, New York, New York;
Sea Cliff Bridge, New South Wales, Australia;
Causeway Bay, Central and into Admiralty Tunnel portal, Hong Kong;
Ipanema beach, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil;
Grand Hotel, its hairpin and the Nouvelle Chicane on the Circuit de Monaco, Monte Carlo, Monaco…
…then an anonymous Shell filling station, and start again in Rome…
