In the early 1950s, Donald Healey turned the British automotive industry on its ear with his affordable, mass-produced sports car, the Austin-Healey 100. Soon, other British manufacturers, such as MG and Triumph, were clamoring to come up with competitors to meet the world’s hungry demand. For the next 20 years, the Austin-Healey name featured prominently on the world sports car scene in the guise of such models as the 100 and the 3000, as well as in the race results at places like Sebring, Le Mans and the Monte Carlo Rally. This month’s Web site is devoted to these extraordinary British sports cars.
One of the central features of this site is a “Healey Catalog” section that chronicles all of the various Healey models, including the early Healey Silverstone and Nash variants, as well as the works racecars. Each model has its own sub-section that includes articles, technical specifications, photographs and an updateable registry of owners. Other features of the site include a nice Healey timeline, image gallery, owner registry and related Healey links.
