Entries have opened for the 2016 Brooklands Double Twelve Motorsport Festival, organized by Brooklands Museum and the Vintage Sports Car Club. The two-day event, scheduled for June 18-19, will follow the well-established format of three separate competitive events — Speed Trials, Driving Tests and Concours d’Élégance — with aggregate scores from any two counting toward overall Double Twelve awards. The Concours is also recognizing the 25th anniversary of the Museum’s official opening in 1991 with full awards and the inclusion of a special “Anything Silver” class to mark the quarter century.
The Speed Trials (Sprint) will take place on the Mercedes-Benz World Circuit on Saturday, while the Concours will be held at the Museum both days and the Driving Tests will be conducted at both sites on Sunday
The structure of the competitions allows entrants to choose which elements best suit them and their vehicle across both days. Each event will have its own class and overall winners, but to qualify for a Brooklands Double Twelve award, entrants must compete in two of the three events, with the combined scores deciding their Double Twelve ranking.
A full list of classes is available on the Double Twelve pages of the Museum website, www.brooklandsmuseum.com, and at the VSCC website at www.vscc.co.uk, along with entry forms to download.
