The 2014 Palm Beach Cavallino Classic will be held January 22-26 at the Breakers Resort Hotel in Palm Beach, Florida. Celebrating its 23rd anniversary, this five-day gathering for Ferrari owners and enthusiasts will see participants and their 400 exotic and classic cars attending from the United States and Europe.
The first major event of the convention is the 3rd Annual Cavallino Classic Competition, a two-day track meet at Palm Beach International Raceway on Thursday and Friday, January 23rd and 24th. A select field of competition Ferraris, Maseratis, Alfa Romeos and Bugattis will revive memories of past and present glory, as their owners drive these historic machines again on the 11-turn, 2.043 mile race track. The track days offer owners of these historic race cars the opportunity to compete against other owners in a controlled racing environment.
Additional events include the Tour of Palm Beach on Thursday, January 23rd, which will take participants through the beautiful sights and surroundings of Palm Beach. There are also evening events – the Jet Reception at Palm Beach International Airport on Thursday evening and a Beach Club Party at a members-only Breakers Hotel venue on Friday evening to celebrate the winners of the Cavallino Classic Competition.
The high point of Cavallino Classic 2014 is the Concorso d’Eleganza on the front lawn of the Breakers Resort Hotel, on Saturday, January 25th. A field of 150 Ferrari automobiles are judged by leading international experts for originality and elegance, for Class Awards and the important Major Cups, along with the Cavallino Cup for Best in Show. The 2014 event will feature the 50th anniversary of the 275 model.
The week of the 23rd Palm Beach Cavallino Classic in January 2014 will be crowned by its Sunday program Classic Sports Sunday for its 13th year at Mar-a-Lago, the legendary Marjorie Merriweather Post mansion in Palm Beach. Classic Sports Sunday has been expanded in the last several years to include pre- and post-war classic sporting automobiles. The setting will be superb as always, with the historic and restored mansion and the pristine grounds adding to the tropical splendor. Featuring Bentley in 2014, a field of 120 classic sporting automobiles will be presented on the lawn, including the finest examples of American, Italian, French, British and German classics. Awards will be presented at a charity luncheon for the American Council of the Blind, held in the Mar-a-Lago opulent ballroom.
