Aficionados of fine automotive engineering will once again gather in the French town of Angouleme on the third weekend of September to celebrate their passion with the annual Concours d’Elegance, Rally and Races around an inner-city street circuit that has remained unchanged since its first running in 1939.
The Concours will open the festivities on Friday evening September 17 at 9 p.m. with a parade of nearly three dozen cars, all accompanied by their crews in ceremonial period dress. Saturday’s Rally—with 370 teams expected to take part—will be routed through a surrounding countryside sprinkled with Cognac vineyards, while Sunday’s race on the historic streets will cap the event on a circuit painted red and blue.
