The International Tourist Trophy was first awarded by the Royal Automobile Club (RAC) in 1905 and continues to be awarded today, making it the longest lasting trophy in motorsport.
For the 1961 TT Race at Goodwood, John Ogier entered three Aston Martins, two of them DB4GT Zagato cars. Roy Salvadori was to drive one and Jim Clark, depicted in the painting above, was to drive the other. The race was won by Stirling Moss driving the Rob Walker Ferrari 250 GT SWB. Jim Clark finished 4th completing 107 laps in the 3 hours (2 laps less than the winning car).
