Barrett-Jackson finished one of its strongest years in the company’s history following the 8th Annual Las Vegas Auction on Sept. 24-26, 2015. Barrett-Jackson’s Las Vegas auction enjoyed a 98 percent sell-through rate with sales totaling more than $26.9 million and $750,000 raised for charity. Top lot of the sale was a 1968 Chevrolet Corvette L88 selling for $330,000.
The 21st Annual Keels & Wheels Concours d’Elegance, benefiting The Boys & Girls Harbor, has announced its new event date of April 23-24, 2016. The date change is for 2016 only and the event will return to its regular schedule on the first weekend in May 2017.
An unrestored 1929 Duesenberg J Convertible Coupe topped Morphy Auctions’ 46-lot Premier Automobile Auction in Denver, Pennsylvania, in Ocotber, selling for a remarkable $2.53 million. The auction’s gross sales totaled $4,371,125.
The LeMay – America’s Car Museum (ACM) recently opened its first permanent display to honor the late Harold “Lucky” LeMay, which includes three vintage vehicles donated to the ACM Collection. The gifted cars from Harold’s wife Nancy LeMay include a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air, 1959 Chevrolet Impala and 1967 Ford Shelby GT500 Fastback, and will join others on display in the “Lucky’s Garage” exhibit, which features 50 cars from LeMay’s Guinness World Records’ 3000-plus vehicle collection.
