• RM Auctions celebrated the annual AACA Eastern Division Fall Meet on October 9-10 with its best Hershey performance to date: $14,074,250 in total sales with 93% of all lots sold. Top lot of the sale was a 1930 Cadillac V16 Roadster from the John Moir Jr., A-to-Z Collection, which sold for $1,100,000.
• Internationally renowned concours judge Nigel Matthews has been named chief judge of the 2015 Pinehurst Concours d’Elegance, to be held the first Saturday in May in the North Carolina Sandhills. n Bonhams’ “Preserving the Automobile” sale at the Simeone Automotive Museum in early October, saw 80% of the lots sell for a total between $3-4 million. Top lot of the sale was a 1907 American Underslung Roadster selling for $1.43 million.
• The 15th Annual Paris Traverse, a 30-km moving parade of classic cars through the streets of Paris, will take place on January 11. Open to any vintage vehicle—cars, motorcycles, buses, tractors, vans and busses—participants will meet at 8 a.m. at the Esplanade du Château de Vincennes for a 30-kilometer tour through Paris’ iconic landmarks such as the Places Daumesnil, des Vosges, Vendôme, Concorde, Invalides, de l’Etoile, du Tracadéro and returning to Château de Vincennes for a display of vehicles.
