• Barrett-Jackson announced that it generated more than $14.2 million in gross sales of rare, high-end collectible vehicles, exotics, customs, classics, hot rods and resto-mods, during its inaugural Hot August Nights Auction held August 8-10, 2013 at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center. Overall attendance was strong with the inaugural event attracting nearly 40,000 car enthusiasts throughout the weekend. Top sales included a 2014 Shelby GT500 Convertible ($500,000), a 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible ($192,000), a 1950 Jaguar XK 120 2-Door Roadster ($178,200) and a 1968 Shelby GT500 E Continuation Fastback ($165,000).
• The 13th annual Automedon Show, will be held in Paris, France on October 12-13. Spread over a 20,000-square-meter hall in Paris’s Parc des Expositions du Bourget and an equally large outdoor area, Automedon will play host to more than 2,000 classic cars and bikes.
