The famed Concorso Italiano has announced that the 17-year old concourse, devoted to all things Italian, will move in 2003 from Carmel Valley’s Quail Lodge to Monterey Bay’s Black Horse Golf Course.
Event organizers cited the need to move the event to a larger facility, as a result of the tremendous growth that the event (held the same weekend as the Monterey Historics) has enjoyed in recent years. In addition to expanded space for exhibitors and car corrals, the new site benefits from being only five minutes from downtown Monterey, with multiple points of entry. This will prove a dramatic improvement for visitors who have in the past sat in bumper-to-bumper traffic for as much as two hours to get in and out of the event – and we all know how much Italian cars love bumper-to-bumper traffic!
